ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

JANUARY 18, 2008

12:15 P.M.  Called meeting to order.  Present:  Paula B. Keefe, Richard Gorden,

                    Ellen Abelson and Mark Mazur

1. The Board reviewed a list of uncollectible personal property accounts submitted by the Collector’s Office.
2. The Board approved the abatement of the following uncollectible personal

property accounts for the following fiscal years:

            F.Y. 2004                    four accounts

            F.Y. 2005                    four accounts

            F.Y. 2006                    seven accounts

            F.Y. 2007                    two accounts

      3.   The Board read a denial notice from the state Department of Revenue for a

            request under M.G.L. Chapter 58 Section 8.  The change in the Department’s

            policy for such matters was discussed.

4. The Board granted a fiscal year 2006 abatement of parcel 49-8 at the request

of the Conservation Commission.

      5.   Chairman of the Board of Assessors, Paula B. Keefe signed three copies of a

Certificate for Chapter 61/Chapter 61A Forest Lands for the owner of parcel

42-28-4.

      6.   The Board read a notice from the Appellate Tax Board notifying us that a

            recent case with the owner of parcel 10-2 had been decided in favor of

            the Town.

7. The Board took the following actions on fiscal year 2008 Community

Preservation Act exemption applications:

8. The Board discussed estimates for fiscal year 2009 new growth and decided to

estimate $600,000.
